How Can We Raise Our Universities in World Rankings?<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Ural Akbulut serves as the President of Middle East Technical
University (METU) Informatics Institute URAP. He completed his undergraduate
and graduate education at METU Department of Chemistry between 1968-1972. He
completed his doctorate at the University of South Florida Chemistry Department
in 1973. He started his academic career as a research assistant at METU in 1975
and took on various academic and administrative positions at Ankara University
for a while. He currently works as a professor at METU.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Ural Akbulut served as dean and vice rector at Ankara University;
general secretary, vice rector and rector at METU.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Ural Akbulut, who deals with portrait art as well as being an academician
and administrator, has received T\u00dcB\u0130TAK Incentive Award, Benz Alumni Award
(USF&BENZ), Turkish Chemical Society Service Award, Italian Knight Order,
ANG\u0130AD-Educator of the Year Award, Lions International Achievement Award and
Japan-Hyogo State’s International Prize. In addition, he has undertaken more
than a hundred academic studies and many projects that are included in
reputable indexes. His scientific studies have received over 1000 citations.<\/p>\n
